Job Summary
Football Sports Nutrition Student Assistant
Purdue Sports Nutrition supports the daily needs of the student-athletes, the department is seeking dependable, determined, initiative-oriented students to help carry out the Sports Nutrition Mission of providing high performance nutrition strategies that keep boilermaker student-athletes in the game and to ensure the best possible outcomes both on the field of competition and in life beyond athletics
Major Responsibilities
  • Practice and training session support: making shakes, assist in fueling and recovery of the football student-athletes
  • Stocking and taking inventory
  • Shipment receiving
  • Food service, catering assistance
  • Provide hydration and fueling during practice
  • Travel packing and unpacking
  • Game day field and locker room setup
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must be a current Purdue student, nutrition majors preferred, enrolling in NUTR 245/345 highly preferred
  • Good time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to perform manual labor which may include lifting, carrying and long periods of standing and/or walking
  • High level of professionalism as a representative of Purdue Athletics
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and other athletic department staff, including student-athletes and coaches
  • Must be able to work independently and perform at a high level within a group
  • Must be able to take initiative and anticipate needs of the student-athletes and coaches
  • Students must follow all HIPAA, FERPA, NCAA, and Purdue University rules and regulations.

Availability and Time Commitment
  • Ideally have some summer availability to support team workouts
  • Students must be available for training camp: tentatively July 30 - August 30
  • In-season - available for most practices during the week (3) and 1 weekend day, either game day or recovery day
