Job description

RiverMead, a not-for-profit, full-service LifeCare Community located in picturesque Peterborough, New Hampshire, is seeking an experienced and certified Group Fitness Instructor to join our community as an independent contractor.

In this role, you will design and lead engaging fitness classes for active independent living residents (age 62+) and staff, with a focus on supporting balance, mobility, strength, and overall well-being. Classes may include, but are not limited to: indoor cycling, yoga, interval training, strength, and mindfulness.

This is an as-needed contractor assignment with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, effective, and engaging group fitness sessions tailored to older adults and staff.

  • Incorporate cardiorespiratory, balance, mobility, neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, cognitive/emotional, and/or mindfulness practices.

  • Maintain professional standards of health, safety, and wellness.

  • Represent RiverMead's values of care, community, and well-being.

Requirements
  • Valid group fitness certification

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Proof of comprehensive liability insurance.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with an aging population, preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a contractor role.
