Job description

Journeyman Conveyor Electrician (Lead & Frontline Opportunities)

Location: Ryder Hazmat Facility 4700 NW 135th Street, Miami, FL 33054

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Project Duration: Approximately 5 Weeks (through September 20, 2026)

Schedule:

  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM 5:30 AM
  • Monday Saturday
  • 60+ hours per week available

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $28.00 - $32.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • $125/day Per Diem paid for all seven days of the week
  • Weekly pay
  • Opportunity for continued work beyond this project for the right people

Position Overview

We are seeking four experienced Journeyman Conveyor Electricians for a high-profile conveyor installation project at the Ryder Hazmat facility in Miami, FL. Conveyor experience is absolutely required. We are looking for proven, production-driven electricians who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Ideally, we are seeking one Lead Conveyor Electrician and three Frontline Conveyor Electricians. However, we are also open to hiring four highly skilled frontline electricians if they have the conveyor experience and work ethic we're looking for.

This project represents the first electrical conveyor installation opportunity with Toyota on this site, and there is significant potential for additional work throughout the remainder of the year for candidates who demonstrate strong leadership, quality workmanship, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Install and terminate conveyor electrical systems in an industrial environment.
  • Read and interpret electrical and conveyor system drawings and schematics.
  • Install conduit, cable trays, and wire management systems.
  • Pull, route, and terminate electrical wiring and control cables.
  • Install and connect motors, sensors, VFDs, photo eyes, and other conveyor components.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and commissioning support as needed.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with project specifications.
  • Maintain productivity while working night shifts and extended work schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and fellow tradesmen.

Lead Conveyor Electrician Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of the conveyor electrical crew.
  • Assist with work planning, manpower assignments, and production goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between field personnel and project leadership.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
  • Mentor and support frontline electricians throughout the project.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman-level electrical experience.
  • Previous conveyor installation experience is required.
  • Experience working on conveyor systems within distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, or automated material handling environments is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and installation drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to commit to the full project duration.
  • OSHA 10 Certification required.
