POSITION OVERVIEW:
Lead engaging, hands-on cooking classes for children 3-12 and their guardians, teaching basic food preparation, nutrition, kitchen safety and healthy eating habits in a fun, supportive and age-appropriate environment. all recipes are prepared without the use of a stove or oven.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 16 years of age (dependent of age of participants)
  • Current state approved first aid certification.
  • Current CPR
  • One year or more of experience participating in, or working with, sports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides instruction in one or more special program activities.
  • Develops positive relationships with schools, parents and participants.
  • Operates all equipment properly and promptly reports any problems.
  • Maintains attendance and other records.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Motivates and leads participants in a variety of special programs.
  • Communicates effectively with members, peers, participants, parents, volunteers and supervisor.
  • Responds to safety and emergency situations.
  • Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures including emergency procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
  • Obtains a substitute instructor when needed.
