Job Title: Field Technician

Job Description

The Field Technician maintains, repairs, deploys, and transports a wide range of mechanical and field equipment. This role is highly hands-on and involves working with tools, operating forklifts, and supporting field assets in dynamic environments. The position requires frequent travel, including extended assignments of 6–8 weeks at a time, potentially to international locations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and field equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Deploy and transport equipment to various field locations, including remote and international sites.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload field assets.
  • Perform hands-on problem solving in the field to address mechanical, electrical, and installation issues as they arise.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to support installation and construction-related tasks.
  • Assist with installation and setup of piping, plumbing, HVAC, and related mechanical systems as required.
  • Support general labor activities such as assembly, construction, carpentry, and site preparation.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for maintenance, repair, and installation work.
  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure equipment and systems are installed and maintained according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Travel for extended periods, including 6–8 week assignments, to support field operations and urgent deployment needs.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical skills with hands-on experience working on equipment and machinery.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, moving, and assembling equipment and materials.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, piping, HVAC, and construction practices.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for 6–8 weeks at a time, including to international locations such as Kenya.
  • Comfort working in field environments that require on-the-spot problem solving and physical work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $55000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
