Job description

General Description The Psychiatrist is a valuable member of our Behavioral Health Team who provides Adult clinical care of clients, including evaluation, prescribing of medications as appropriate, development of treatment plans, and ordering of lab tests at one or more clinical facilities in the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center. Provides psychiatric consultations as requested by LCHD/CHC staff and from other agencies. Education/Requirements Graduation from an LCME-accredited or ECFMG-accredited medical school is required.

Minimum of (4) four years of Graduate Medical Education in a psychiatric residency training program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education is required. Board eligible within (2) years of hire, in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, or other board certification entity required. Current active license from the State of Illinois as a Physician; or a letter from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation stating that the application for licensure endorsement has been approved, with receipt of the Illinois license following within six months of the initial application date for endorsement required.

Current active and unrestricted Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) from the State of Illinois is required. Registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required. Schedule: 40 hours a week (supports 2 locations) 3010 Grand Avenue, Waukegan (3 days) 18698 W Peterson Rd, Libertyville (2 days) (1) one remote day at each location is permitted if preferred.
