Our Winslow, ME office has a Senior Project Manager opportunity available. This person will be responsible for project execution, task identification, prioritization and scheduling, financial tracking and management to budget, risk management including early problem identification and conflict resolution, procurement, subcontracts, supporting engineers, communications and meeting leadership, account/client management

Primary Purpose

We are looking for a leader for this strategic position with strong project management, customer service, and business skills to help achieve technical excellence, revenue growth, profitability, and strategic targets. This role provides Project Management, Account Management, and Technical Expertise for various sized projects.

Project Management Responsibilities

Responsible for project execution, task identification, prioritization and scheduling, financial tracking and management to budget, risk management including early problem identification and conflict resolution, procurement, subcontracts, supporting engineers, communications and meeting leadership, account/client management. Work will include project(s) ranging in size up to $6M. This position is responsible for ensuring overall project profitability.

  • Ensures that all project team members clearly understand the scope of WM responsibilities on assigned projects
  • Develops and maintains standard communication and technical documentation for project implementation (RFIs, Transmittals, Submittals, Change Requests, Project Plans, Status Updates, etc.)
  • Responsible for all project invoicing to the customer
  • Develops and maintains project schedules per WM and customer requirements; proficient with Microsoft Project/critical path and float analysis/resource leveling
  • Evaluates and reports progress on project(s) and details changes
  • Responsible for all purchasing and subcontractor requirements for assigned projects
  • Responsible for development of costs and proposal of change orders to contract scope
  • Negotiates change orders to comply with customer and contract requirements
  • Develops and implements a cash flow plan for the project including A/R collections
  • Provides timely financial forecasts on costs, budgets, C/O’s and schedule
  • Serves as WM’s primary interface with the customer during the implementation phase of assigned projects
  • Identify sales opportunities, confidence to suggest scope changes with justifications, ability to network across targeted industries; Provides input to proposals and technical support to closing new business.
  • Works with Business Unit Manager on a continuous basis to ensure we have all required shop resources (labor, space, tools, etc.) for scheduled work ahead of time

Business Responsibilities

  • Supports development and execution of the short to long term strategic plan, including the income goals of the Business Unit
  • Responsible for periodic business reporting and support relevant business meetings
  • Support Business Unit recruitment and hiring per strategic staffing plan
  • Evaluate the project needs and competency of business unit staff to achieve optimum resource pool
  • Support business unit staff with their career development planning and growth
  • Support the Business Unit Manager and Business Development team on business development activities
  • Manage key accounts / customers including contract and rate negotiations, client-specific staffing, business development, and strategic planning
  • Ability to effectively develop and manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality for projects of varying size and complexity, including customer and business unit reporting of scope, schedule, and earned value
  • Development of project budget, execution plans, work breakdown structures, schedules and proposals

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (BSEE preferred) or related technical degree with equivalent experience
  • PMP certification preferred
