Job Title: Sage Implementation Specialist
Job Description
The Sage Implementation Specialist serves as the organization's Sage ERP Subject Matter Expert during the implementation of a new Sage ERP platform. This role leads the planning, configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization of the ERP system to ensure it aligns with business objectives and operational requirements. The position requires deep expertise in Sage ERP solutions, strong business process knowledge, and experience driving successful ERP implementations in manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceutical, consumer products, or other regulated environments. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a major transformation initiative and directly influence how the organization operates and grows.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Sage ERP Subject Matter Expert throughout the entire implementation lifecycle.
  • Partner with business leaders, department stakeholders, and implementation consultants to define detailed system requirements and business processes.
  • Lead ERP configuration, setup, and validation activities to ensure the system meets operational and reporting needs.
  • Analyze current-state workflows across functions and recommend best-practice process improvements aligned with Sage capabilities.
  • Assist with data migration planning, including data mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive system testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Identify gaps between business requirements and standard Sage functionality and recommend practical solutions or workarounds.
  • Support integration efforts between Sage ERP and third-party systems or business applications.
  • Create clear process documentation, standard operating procedures, and end-user training materials.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops to end users and provide change management support to help employees adopt new processes and tools.
  • Act as a liaison between internal business units and external implementation partners, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Manage issue identification, tracking, and resolution throughout implementation and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Provide recommendations for ongoing system enhancements, process optimization, and continuous improvement opportunities after go-live.

Essential Skills
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Sage ERP solutions such as Sage 100, Sage 300, Sage Intacct, or similar Sage platforms.
  • Proven experience serving as a lead consultant, ERP analyst, implementation manager, or ERP Subject Matter Expert on ERP projects.
  • Strong understanding of core ERP processes, including Finance and Accounting, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain and Distribution, Order Management, and Reporting and Analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience leading full ERP implementation lifecycles from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, go-live, and stabilization.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP configuration, including setup, parameterization, and validation of Sage ERP modules.
  • Experience with data migration activities, including planning, data cleansing, validation, and cutover support.
  • Experience designing and executing system testing and User Acceptance Testing, including test planning and defect management.
  • Experience delivering user training and supporting change management during technology implementations.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, prioritization, coordination of tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders, functional teams, and external partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to troubleshoot issues across processes, data, and system configuration.
  • Proficiency with Sage ERP platforms, including Sage 100 ERP and related Sage solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in guiding teams through ERP transformation initiatives.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $100.00/hr.
