Position Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3โ€“5 years of experience to join its Employment-Based Immigration practice in either its Pittsburgh or Detroit office.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling a variety of employment-based immigration matters and advising corporate clients on complex immigration issues. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients, manage a diverse caseload, and serve as a strategic advisor on employment-based immigration matters.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as the primary legal and strategic point of contact for assigned corporate clients.
  • Advise clients on immigration strategies, timelines, government requirements, and case developments.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, immigration program reviews, and planning discussions.
  • Review employment-based immigration petitions and applications prepared by paralegals and legal support staff.
  • Handle matters involving H-1Bs, PERMs, I-140s, Adjustment of Status applications, L-1s, TNs, and other employment-based immigration matters.
  • Draft legal support letters and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs).
  • Lead regular client status calls and manage escalations when necessary.
  • Assist clients with the preparation and submission of petitions and applications to USCIS.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure high-quality client service.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • 3โ€“5 years of employment-based immigration experience.
  • Experience handling H-1Bs, PERMs, I-140s, AOS, L-1s, and TNs.
  • PERM experience is required.
  • Experience advising clients directly on a variety of immigration matters.
  • Strong advocacy, legal research, and writing skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid academic credentials.
Compensation amp; Benefits

The salary range for this position is $120,000โ€“$140,000 annually, based on a full-time work schedule. Actual compensation will be based on factors including relevant experience, qualifications, skill set, training, internal equity, and market considerations.

The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
