Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients' trauma histories and identify appropriate therapeutic approaches.
• Design and implement tailored treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery and resilience, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that foster emotional processing, coping strategy development, and healing within a supportive framework.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and holistic care to clients seeking mental health support.
• Respond to crisis situations by providing immediate intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, available resources, and effective coping mechanisms to empower them through recovery.
• Maintain detailed and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and ethical guidelines to uphold the highest standards of care.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, case discussions, and team collaborations to stay current with trauma-informed care best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on individuals who have experienced trauma, including those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. We provide specialized care that acknowledges the diverse experiences and backgrounds of our clients, creating an inclusive and sensitive environment where healing can occur. As a mental health counselor, you will work closely with this vulnerable population to facilitate their recovery and promote resilience.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Maryland.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, preferably with a focus on trauma treatment.

• In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and evidence-based trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Successful background in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions tailored to diverse client needs.
