JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Quality Technician supports the O-Rings business by leading customer and supplier quality activities and ensuring compliance with quality standards and work instructions. This role supports PPAP activities, maintains inspection equipment, and leads investigations and corrective actions in collaboration with suppliers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Prepare customer PPAP documentation and coordinate supplier PPAP submissions.
  • Review supplier IMDS submissions and prepare customer IMDS packages.
  • Coordinate outside testing and sorting when required
  • Perform dimensional inspections and develop inspection methods using quality inspection equipment.
  • Investigate customer complaints, lead supplier corrective actions, and submit 8D responses to customers.
  • Support nonconforming material disposition.
  • Assist the Quality Technician with revalidations and inspections as needed.
  • Assist Production Supervisor with training employees on quality requirements and inspection equipment.
  • Communicate project status and quality issues with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by Quality Manager

SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES

  • Experience using quality inspection equipment and measuring devices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other computer applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and basic knowledge of GD&T and AIAG PPAP requirements.
  • Experience with rubber or polymer products is a plus.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Automotive PPAP experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Office environment with frequent work in production area. The position will require wearing common protective or safety equipment as designated by company policy. The position may require standing or walking for extended periods of time. The position may also require the use of hands and fingers with tools. The position may require the lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Much of the work will involve using a computer.
