US Farathane is seeking an Advanced Quality Engineer to lead quality planning and launch activities for our Ford programs, ensuring flawless execution from concept through production. What You'll Do

As an Advanced Quality Engineer, you will serve as a key quality leader during product launch and pre-production activities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, manufacturing plants, and Ford customer representatives to ensure successful APQP execution and launch readiness. This position sits fully onsite at our Corporate Tech Center in Auburn Hills, MI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product launches and pre-production programs.
  • Drive quality deliverables throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements.
  • Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) during launch and pre-production phases.
  • Coordinate and submit complete PPAP packages, including engineering changes and customer approvals.
  • Ensure all required documentation is submitted accurately and on time through customer portals and tracking systems.
  • Participate in the creation and review of:
    • Process Flow Diagrams
    • PFMEAs
    • Control Plans
    • Special and Critical Characteristics
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, standards, and supplier quality requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Develop Measurement System Analysis (MSA) plans, including Gauge R&R studies and capability analysis.
  • Ensure PSW and other customer-required approvals are obtained prior to production launch.
  • Manage temporary approvals and interim customer authorizations through final approval.
  • Submit and maintain IMDS requirements for assigned programs.
  • Support customer builds, launch activities, audits, process reviews, and supplier visits.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts related to launch quality concerns and communicate timely updates to customers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Ford supplier quality requirements and APQP processes.
  • Coach and mentor teammates on quality systems, processes, and customer expectations.
Qualifications
  • 2-3+ years of quality experience within the automotive industry.
  • Experience with:
    • APQP
    • PPAP
    • PFMEA
    • Control Plans
    • MSA
    • Capability Studies
    • Gauge R&R
  • Strong understanding of automotive launch processes and customer-specific requirements.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer standards.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting Ford programs and working directly with Ford Engineering, Supplier Quality, or Customer Representatives.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 quality system requirements.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing launches and supplier development activities.
