What’s The Job?

Do you like an exciting, fast-paced environment? Do you want to be a part of new technology? GHSP, based in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. GHSP is currently hiring a Advanced Quality Engineer to join our Manufacturing team in Hart, MI.

What You’ll Do

Program Quality Leadership - The AQE provides quality leadership for new programs. The AQE uses the PDP tools and instructions to guide the work, including the MRR lists and Craftsmanship reviews. The AQE is the quality lead generally through SOP +90 days. Furthermore, the AQE is responsible to oversee the quality deployment at offshore locations for specific programs to ensure GHSP quality standards are met.

Drives the development team to deliver capable processes and products - The AQE participates in the development of the DFMEA and PFMEA, participates in design reviews, supports low volume builds and run-at-rate events. Will apply world class techniques (Six Sigma, Red X, Anova, Taguchi, SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R etc.) to ensure the development of robust, predictive quality processes which are easily transferable and maintainable in a production environment. The AQE tracks and communicates necessary data regarding the process and products. The AQE uses the appropriate GHSP tools such as Enovia, PPAP database, PTR database, PCR, etc.

Facilitates the design, build and certification of gauges - Following the procedures outlined in GPS, determines what gauges are required for a particular project to ensure adherence to standards post-launch. Works with the gauge source to ensure that an accurate, repeatable gauge is available on time.

Customer PPAP - The AQE is responsible to successfully PPAP new products and engineering changes to the customer. The AQE leads the development of the certain deliverables including dimensional results, initial process studies, measurement system development and analysis, control plans, AAR, PSW and IMDS. Other PPAP requirements are gathered by the AQE from other sources within GHSP. The AQE is also responsible for managing and updating the customer tracking sites such as Ford's VPP, Chrysler's CQMS, etc. Post­ SOP engineering changes are also PPAP'ed by the AQE (Post SOP process changes, supplier changes are handled and PPAP'ed by the PQE).

Transfer to Production - Ensure the efficient and timely transfer of Quality process knowledge to PQE's and coordinate the training of quality facilitators and manufacturing support staff on new quality processes and equipment. Ensure all appropriate documentation is in place prior to production start.

Warranty Analysis - Although the Plant QE is the warranty lead for the program; the AQE will support analysis and problem solving as needed by the PQE.
