Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), imaging equipment, and hospital information systems is typically required. Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to support patients compassionately help distinguish outstanding candidates. They help prepare patients for imaging procedures, maintain and organize imaging equipment, handle administrative tasks, and assist with patient positioning. Their role is essential for ensuring efficient workflow, patient comfort, and the smooth operation of imaging services. Imaging Assistants do not perform diagnostic imaging themselves but play a vital role in the overall process.

What is the role of an imaging assistant?

An imaging assistant supports the operation of imaging equipment such as X-ray, MRI, or ultrasound machines by preparing patients, positioning them correctly, and ensuring image quality.
