Overview

Due to continued growth, HDR has immediate openings for ICT/Security Justice Principal to join our team. In this dynamic role, you'll forge powerful relationships with both internal teams and external clients, especially in the cutting-edge field of Telecommunications and Physical Security, while leading engineering efforts to deliver innovative solutions. You'll drive project success by solving complex technical challenges, ensuring top-quality results, and guiding your team to exceed customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

Imagine a day when you're at the forefront of collaboration, working with engineering teams and clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions in Telecommunications and Physical Security. You will lead technical discussions, resolve challenges, and ensure designs meet all requirements. Your guidance keeps projects on track while you research improvements, propose innovations, and provide key updates to the team - making a real impact and strengthening vital relationships every step of the way.

In the role of ICT/Security Justice Principal, we'll count on you to:

  • Evaluate, select and apply state-of-the-art ICT/Security systems, techniques, procedures, design and modifications

  • Design and specify ICT systems including but not limited to OSP and ISP fiber optic and copper backbones, horizontal cabling, bonding, cabling pathways, and telecom room design.

  • Design and specify security systems including but not limited to Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Video Surveillance.

  • Regularly present designs in client-facing settings, representing HDR in a positive and professional manner.

  • Assume lead designer role in a fast-paced design environment, taking responsibility for drawings and specifications for entire design discipline.

  • Take responsibility for complete set of construction documents

  • Independently perform ICT/Security engineering assignments with broad general instruction from Project Manager as to the results expected

  • Create construction drawings, write specifications covering all ICT/Security system matters; perform reviews and work directly with owners as a part of project team

  • Regularly perform cross-discipline coordination to ensure fully coordinated scope.

  • Mentor junior designers as needed to cross-train and grow the ICT/Security team.

  • Select and recommend procedures, ICT/Security devices and equipment; write specifications covering all ICT/Security system matters; perform reviews and work directly with owners as a part of project team

  • Conduct QA/QC of the work of other ICT/Security designers.

  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering Bachelor's degree

  • RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) or PSP (Physical Security Professional)

  • BICSI DCDC, OSP, or RTPM a plus

  • Experience with Data Centers and Federal Entities

  • "Can-Do" and problem-solving mind-set.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule and under budget.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).

  • Strong computer skills and a proficiency or able to work in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work in Revit with the ability to learn new applications quickly.

  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices.
