Job description

Description:

The Group Home Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Group Home Manager in overseeing the Group Home’s household, staff, and program operations. They work as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Group Home with additional responsibilities to support the Group Home Manager.



DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and monitor Group Home Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the implementation and execution of Individual Prescriptive Plans (IPP) and all related programming
  • Assist QIDP and Group Home Manager in the planning of instructional activities designed to meet coordinated IPP goals and objectives. This shall include implementation of activities recommended by ancillary staff
  • Assist QIDP and Group Home Manager in the planning and implementation of other ICF/MR Federal Regulations, Medicaid and/or Fire Marshall required activities
  • Participate in annual case conferences and/or staffing for clients with other appropriate members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain and submit all necessary documentation in IPPs: behavior tracking, incident reports, personal assistance sheets, time cards, t-logs, medication records, and other documentation as requested to ensure compliance with agency and state policies and procedures,
  • Maintain assigned property to include, but not limited to, indoor, outdoor and vehicle maintenance
  • Supervise and monitor medical needs of clients including, but not limited to: scheduled appointments, emergency procedures, surgeries, medication administration, aftercare instructions, and the planning and arrangement of these things
  • Attend all in-service, program, and agency meetings, as required
  • Ensure accountability for cost center expenditures
  • Demonstrate teamwork with staff and clients in the agency
  • Work with Group Home Manager to be on-call, as needed, for emergencies during non-traditional work hours
  • Must perform DSP duties, as needed, in addition to assisting the Group Home Manager
  • Other duties as assigned by the director, manager, or designee


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged standing and frequent movement.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 60 pounds at times, 120 pounds with assistance.


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent ability to navigate, implement, and troubleshoot technology.
  • Valid Driver’s license and Auto Insurance


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience with developmentally disabled population
