Title - IBM Z Mainframe Engineer/ DB2 Systems Administrator Lead

Position Fulltime

Location East Brunswick, NJ (Hybrid)

Qualifications

  • 12+ years IBM System Z experience and concepts, with considerable knowledge in the following:
    • SMP/E
    • IBM DB2 utilities, BMC Mainview for DB2 and BMC Tool Suite for DB2, particularly Detector, Subsystem analyzer, Apptune, AMI Reorg and AMI Unload/Load
    • Experience with DB2 z/OS as a distributed server
    • FLASH technology, DASD replication techniques
    • z/OS Storage management
    • RACF security management w/DB2 z/OS
    • Coupling Facility
    • Networking concepts (IP, SNA)
    • WLM concepts
    • USS - z/OS UNIX System Services
    • For-Bit Data structures
    • REXX application programming
  • 7+ years IBM DB2 experience, with advanced knowledge in the following:
    • Bufferpool/memory management
    • DB2 internal structures (RID, EDM, BPs, etc.)
    • Tablespace/Page structures / UTS
    • Backup/recovery/logging facilities and strategies
    • DB2 locking
    • ZPARMS
    • DB2 tracing/IFCIDs
  • Experience in problem determination and analysis
  • Analytical / critical / outside-the-box thinking in problem solving, especially in possible critical, high-pressure situations.
