Job description

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. We are seeking an Engineer with hands on SSBN Strategic Weapons System (SWS) expertise to inform and collaborate with our Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team. The MBSE team utilizes modeling and simulation (M&S) solutions throughout the organization, to perform engineering analysis, and provide results to inform strategic decisions for operations. The Engineer will focus on providing SWS expertise for the design, development, and integration of M&S products for the program. The Engineer will work on a wide variety of challenges to develop solutions for all aspect of the current business.
This position is responsible for:
  • Understanding SWS operations and architectures
  • Communicating SWS concepts to MBSE engineers
  • Review SWS subsystem functional and logical architectures for completenesss and accuracy
  • Reviewing the Descriptive System Model (DSM) for technical accuracy of model content
  • Hold meetings with engineers supporting multiple programs to provide SWS technical expertise for modelers
  • Prepare/validate data, perform and validate the modeling and analysis, effectively communicate findings, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Leadership to oversee identification of MBSE efforts and provide input to help design, monitor, and improve new and existing systems using M&S.
  • Support the development of overarching M&S and MBSE Strategy.
  • Evaluate risks and needs impacting future M&S development and integration work.

  • Experience or knowledge of SWS SSBN and/or SWS SSBN (R) submarine platforms
  • Current D-5 TRIDENT SWS Technical / Operational Knowledge
  • Demonstrated Self-Starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with other
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  • Willingness and ability to travel

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • SysML experience
  • Experience with Systems Engineering principles including requirements development, allocation, and analysis

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
