IT Project Manager

SYSTEMTEC is seeking an IT Project Manager for a hybrid opportunity in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate will lead and coordinate multiple IT initiatives within an enterprise project environment, ensuring alignment across business and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle. This role is responsible for driving delivery, maintaining governance standards, and supporting successful execution of concurrent technology projects in a structured PMO setting.

Required Qualifications of IT Project Manager:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, OR equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT project management or project leadership role
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent IT projects in a matrixed environment
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies and IT project governance practices
  • Experience developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, risk logs, and communication plans
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint Online, Visio, and Microsoft Project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to stakeholders and leadership
  • Ability to manage scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies across multiple initiatives
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills/Experience of the IT Project Manager:

  • Experience working within an enterprise PMO environment
  • Familiarity with Azure Boards and advanced Microsoft Project usage
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional IT or business transformation projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills

Responsibilities of IT Project Manager:

  • Lead 1–5 concurrent IT projects through initiation, planning, execution, and closure phases
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation including plans, schedules, risks, issues, and communications
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project milestones
  • Monitor project performance, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, and deliverables
  • Facilitate meetings, status updates, and stakeholder communications to ensure transparency and alignment
  • Identify, track, and resolve project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests

Work Location: Hybrid schedule with onsite work required Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with additional onsite presence as needed based on project demands in Columbia, SC. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
