Job description

This is a remote role within the United States. US work authorization is required.
About VIATechnik:
VIATechnik is the global leader in Virtual Design and Construction. We have over 400 digital experts around the globe. The firm's services include Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual & Augmented Reality, Digital Twins, and Enterprise Software Application Development.
We work on some of the industry's largest and most interesting projects such as Apple's new headquarters, Virgin Hyperloop One, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) modernization & expansions, Denver International Airport, Chicago O'Hare International Airport, Hudson Yards, the Atlanta Falcons Stadium, Chase Arena, the Tesla Gigafactory and many more. Our team is made up of leading VDC professionals, technologists, architects, and engineers who have a passion for solving problems and a thirst for learning. We are results-driven, creative solution finders and enjoy putting ourselves in our clients' shoes.
Role Overview
VIATechnik is seeking a senior Electrical VDC leader to drive the successful delivery of large-scale, high-impact digital construction programs. This is not a pure modeling role - it's a strategic leadership position responsible for guiding complex electrical VDC projects from kickoff through closeout while developing high-performing global teams.
You'll partner directly with major clients, internal leadership, and sales teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to scope - while continuously raising the bar on quality, innovation, and operational discipline. If you thrive at the intersection of deep electrical BIM expertise, client advisory, and team leadership, this is a career-defining opportunity.
Why This Role Is a Career Move
This position offers the chance to:
  • Lead complex, globally visible electrical VDC programs for some of the most innovative construction projects in the world
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive-level client stakeholders
  • Build, mentor, and scale distributed VDC teams across geographies
  • Influence delivery standards and operational best practices at scale
  • Expand into broader operational leadership and strategic portfolio ownership
  • For an experienced VDC leader ready for broader impact and ownership, this role provides autonomy, visibility, and long-term growth potential.

What You'll Be Accountable For
1. Deliver Complex Electrical VDC Programs
Lead multiple large-scale electrical VDC projects from kickoff through closeout. Establish execution plans, manage risks proactively, align distributed teams, and ensure delivery meets scope, quality, schedule, and budget commitments.
2. Act as a Trusted Client Advisor
Build strong, lasting relationships with key client stakeholders. Provide strategic guidance on constructability, scope optimization, and digital delivery strategies - becoming the go-to electrical VDC expert for your portfolio.
3. Build and Develop High-Performing Teams
Lead and mentor VDC Managers, Engineers, and Detailers. Align workloads to strengths, set clear expectations, and elevate performance standards while strengthening engagement and retention.
4. Drive Operational & Financial Discipline
Own financial performance across projects - forecasting, invoicing, staffing models, and margin predictability. Implement systems that reduce rework, improve forecasting accuracy, and surface risks early.
How You'll Elevate Delivery
  • Develop detailed project plans, staffing models, and risk registers
  • Maintain rigorous electrical model quality and scope compliance
  • Collaborate with sales and leadership on technical strategy and proposals
  • Coordinate effectively across global teams and time zones
  • Lead training and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Integrate AI and automation tools to improve modeling accuracy, clash detection, forecasting, and coordination workflows

What Makes You Successful Here
You thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where ownership is expected and autonomy is trusted. You're comfortable leading global, distributed teams while maintaining accountability and operational clarity. You combine technical credibility with strong communication and client empathy.
You bring:
  • Deep expertise in electrical BIM/VDC delivery
  • Experience leading complex, multi-project programs
  • Strong client-facing communication and advisory skills
  • Financial oversight and forecasting experience
  • A track record of developing high-performing teams

Culture & Environment
VIATechnik values curiosity, collaboration, client empathy, and results-driven execution. This is a remote-first role working across global teams, requiring flexibility, accountability, and a proactive mindset. When projects demand it, you lean in.
The Win-Win
This role is ideal for an experienced electrical VDC leader seeking broader impact, strategic client ownership, and team leadership - while enabling VIATechnik to scale high-quality delivery and expand its global VDC capabilities.
Compensation and featured benefits:
  • The pay for this position is $110,000 - $130,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
  • Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
  • Open and flexible time off
  • A 401(k) plan that is fully vested immediately
  • Home office setup costs
  • Paid holidays

As a minority and woman owned and led company, VIATechnik seeks to build a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. VIATechnik is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.
