The role:
As a VDC Engineer II, you'll have the chance to apply your technical and customer-facing skills across many projects and contribute to world-class thought leadership around BIM and VDC.
This includes ensuring that projects incorporate VDC processes from the concept stage through design, construction, and transition into maintenance and operations. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a deep passion for developing and implementing innovative VDC processes across project teams.
In this role you will:
  • Work on the project management of VDC/BIM projects across the VDC spectrum, with a focus on construction management.
  • Serve as the interface to clients and cultivate client relationships. Present work to the client. Conduct and/or actively participate in meetings with the client.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Enhance VIATechnik's goal of continuous improvement within our company, for our clients, and for the industry.
  • Coordinate and lead model creation and coordination efforts and digital processes globally for large building and infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to our culture of professional development and knowledge sharing by participating in and leading training efforts.

Apply if you have:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management or similar.
  • Experience leading MEP trade coordination for a construction project.
  • 2-4 years of experience providing implementation, project support, and training in BIM and VDC.
  • 1-3 years of experience working for a general contractor in a field or office capacity.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Capacity to read and interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications, schedules).
  • Knowledge of primary building systems - foundations, primary building structure and walls, mechanical, electrical and plumbing, fire protection, specialty systems, conveying systems and interior finishes and the sequence of assembly of each.
  • A knack for managing multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Even better if you have:
  • A background working for a general contractor, especially in a VDC capacity.
  • Proficiency in leading trade coordination, running and managing clash detection and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience leading online meetings across remote project teams.
  • Experience with producing constructable, field valuable collateral.
  • Ability to create and manage complex construction projects with Revit, Navisworks, ACC, AutoCAD, Bentley Applications, and other supporting programs.
  • Familiarity with managing BIM and VDC across the project lifecycle, design through facilities management.
  • A track record of effectively working with and/or managing teams remotely.
  • Aptitude for working effectively in a highly productive environment.
  • Proactive and flexible attitude.

Compensation and featured benefits:
  • The pay for this position is $85,000 - $95,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
  • Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
