This roleis responsible forprotecting employee health byidentifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace health hazards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards, and driving continuous improvement across IH processes. The role has a direct impact on employee safety, regulatory readiness, and operational excellence across the site and broader network.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Industrial Hygiene programs, including exposure assessment, hazard evaluation, and risk mitigation strategies.

Ensure compliance with applicable IH, EHS, and occupational health regulations (e.g., OSHA, ACGIH) and internal DePuy Synthes standards.

Serve as the site and regional subject matter expert for Industrial Hygiene, providing guidance to EHS partners, operations, and leadership teams.

Lead and support IH risk assessments related to chemicals, particulates, noise, ergonomics, and other occupational exposures.

Develop and maintain IH monitoring programs, data analysis, and reporting to supportdecisionmakingand regulatory submissions.

Partnercrossfunctionallywith Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Facilities to embed IH controls into process design and change management.

Lead audits, inspections, and incident investigations related to IH, ensuringtimelycorrective and preventive actions.

Coach, mentor, and develop IH and EHS teammembers;may directly or indirectly manage professionals and project teams.

Qualifications

Education

Required:Bachelor's degree in IndustrialHygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.

Preferred:Master's degree in IndustrialHygiene, Occupational Health, or Environmental Health and Safety.

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Typically8-10 years of progressive experiencein Industrial Hygiene and/or Environmental, Health & Safety roles within a regulated manufacturing or life sciences environment.

  • Demonstratedexpertisein IH exposure assessment,monitoringmethodologies, and control strategies.

  • Experience leading IH programs, projects, or initiatives withmeasurableimpact on employee health and compliance.

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. occupational health regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ACGIH).

  • Proven ability to influence and partner withcrossfunctionalstakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting medical device, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing operations.

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
