Job Summary:

Ironclad Powered by Mersino is seeking a motivated and technically driven Entry Level MEP Engineer to support large-scale hydronic system flushing, temporary pumping, and mission-critical mechanical operations across commercial, industrial, and data center construction projects throughout North America. This position is ideal for a recent engineering graduate or early-career professional looking to build hands-on field and design experience within mechanical systems, chilled water infrastructure, technical water systems, and temporary fluid management operations. The selected candidate will work alongside experienced mechanical flushing specialists, project managers, and field superintendents supporting commissioning preparation, flushing execution planning, temporary pumping system design, and field startup activities for high-profile infrastructure and mission-critical facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:


Mechanical Flushing & Hydronic Support

  • Assist in development of chilled water and technical water flushing plans
  • Support temporary pumping and filtration system layouts
  • Assist with valve lineup development and flushing sequencing
  • Calculate required flushing velocities and flow rates
  • Support balancing and flow verification activities
  • Coordinate temporary tie-in locations and system routing
  • Assist with system startup and commissioning preparation
  • Help develop flushing procedures, turnover documentation, and field reports


Engineering & Technical Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret:
  • P&IDs
  • Mechanical drawings
  • Isometric piping drawings
  • Equipment schedules
  • Specifications
  • Assist with hydraulic calculations and pump sizing
  • Support Pipe-Flo or equivalent hydraulic modeling
  • Develop equipment lists and temporary system BOMs
  • Assist with temporary heat exchanger, chiller, and filtration sizing
  • Support pressure loss and TDH calculations
  • Coordinate with MEP contractors, commissioning teams, and owners

Field & Construction Support

  • Participate in project site walks and coordination meetings
  • Assist with startup planning and execution schedules
  • Support temporary equipment installation activities
  • Monitor flushing progress and filtration performance
  • Assist with flow meter and instrumentation setup
  • Support troubleshooting of hydronic systems during flushing operations

Preferred Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
