Position Overview
VMG is seeking experienced Hydronic Pipefitters to support commercial and industrial projects across the DMV region. This role focuses on the installation, modification, and maintenance of hydronic piping systems, including heating and cooling water systems, boilers, pumps, and related mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, takes pride in craftsmanship, and can work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, assemble, and maintain hydronic piping systems (steel, copper, stainless, PEX)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Install pumps, valves, heat exchangers, expansion tanks, and hydronic accessories
  • Perform pipe cutting, threading, grooving, brazing, soldering, and welding as required
  • Conduct pressure testing and assist with system flushing and start-up
  • Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, and other trades on active job sites
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Pipefitter with a focus on hydronic systems
  • Strong knowledge of commercial hydronic heating and cooling systems
  • Ability to read blueprints and isometric drawings
  • Experience with welded and mechanical piping systems
  • OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various job site conditions

Preferred Skills (Not Required)
  • Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial projects
  • Boiler room and mechanical room installation experience
