What does the role entail?
Hyatt seeks a Finance leader who demonstrates a growth mindset and ready to grow their career, supporting the Director of Finance in overseeing the day-to-day operations and contributing to strategic financial planning to deliver on key priorities for all stakeholders in achievement of business objectives. You will be part of a team that is committed to nurturing curiosity and new skills, and building connections across the organization with stakeholders, colleagues and guests.
The Assistant Director of Finance serves as the Director of Finance's primary partner in managing the hotel's financial operations, with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Finance Department and providing hands-on leadership across month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, balance-sheet reconciliations, internal controls, cash management and financial analysis. Supervises the Finance team on a day-to-day basis, supporting the team's development and effectiveness. Acts as the senior Finance leader in the Director of Finance's absence. The position partners closely with hotel leadership and department managers to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and sound business decisions, supports the development and effectiveness of the Finance team, and acts as the senior Finance leader in the Director of Finance's absence. Responsibilities will include the following:
β€’ Prepare and review all journal entries, month-end reports, and reconciliations.
β€’ Review preliminary financial statements with Director of Finance
β€’ Participate in monthly financial reviews and support Director of Finance with the presentation of these reports.
β€’ Supervise Finance and Procurement staff and the Information Technology functions of the hotel including coaching and counseling associates to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures, interviewing, training, and evaluating performance of staff.
β€’ Manage and help oversee hotel on and off-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and analysis for the hotel. This
responsibility also includes hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and cash management.
β€’ Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, budget preparations, inventories, monthly closings, and full P&L responsibility.
β€’ Assist with managing and ensuring SOX compliance- monitor internal controls and implement corrective measures as needed.
β€’ Coordinate internal, external and tax audit requests; ensure timely, accurate support and follow-up on findings.
β€’ Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process. Proactively manage troubleshooting for relevant cost controls and revenue enhancements.
β€’ Support Director of Finance with special reporting and ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications:
β€’ 4 years or more of finance career progression; preferred experience in hospitality, retail, or related industry.
β€’ Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field preferred.
β€’ Experience supervising and directing a team.
β€’ Prior POS (Infrasys or Symphony), Oracle, Kronos/UKG Dimensions, Birchstreet, Opera, and other Hyatt systems experience is a plus.
β€’ Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
