KAR & Larrabee is seeking an experienced HVAC Copper Pipefitter to join the team on the Emerson Project in Tampa. This is an opportunity to work on a major commercial construction project with a respected mechanical contractor that offers consistent work and future project opportunities.


What You'll Do

  • Install commercial HVAC piping systems, including chilled water, heating hot water, refrigerant, and condensate piping.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and assemble copper piping systems.
  • Perform precision brazing and soldering of copper piping.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, piping layouts, and shop drawings.
  • Pressure test, inspect, and troubleshoot HVAC piping systems.
  • Coordinate with foremen, HVAC mechanics, and other trades to ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of commercial HVAC pipefitting experience.
  • Extensive experience installing and brazing copper piping for commercial HVAC systems.
  • Strong background working on commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and piping layouts.
  • Experience with chilled water, hot water, refrigerant, and condensate piping systems.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work safely in active construction environments.
  • Reliable transportation and personal hand tools.


Please Note: This position is specifically for experienced commercial HVAC Pipefitters. Candidates whose experience is primarily in plumbing will not be considered.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman Pipefitter license.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Experience on large commercial mechanical construction projects.


Work Environment

  • Large commercial construction project.
  • Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent lifting, climbing ladders, and working from lifts or scaffolding.
