Job description

We are seeking passionate, qualified, and knowledgeable employees to join our Hunting and Gun Department at our St. George store. As a member of the Al's team, you'll help create a safe, welcoming, and professional shopping experience for every customer. You'll work closely with customers to share your expertise in firearms, hunting gear, and archery equipment, helping them find the right products for their individual needs.
The ideal candidate is confident in firearm sales, ammunition, optics, and general hunting gear, and is committed to ensuring full compliance with all federal and state regulations. Responsibilities include assisting customers with product selection, completing required paperwork (including ATF Form 4473), and maintaining a secure, organized department.
In addition to supporting the Hunting and Gun Department, team members will also assist customers with archery products as needed. Knowledge of archery equipment and experience with leading brands such as Hoyt, Mathews, Bear Archery, PSE, and Prime Archery is strongly preferred.
You'll work with top brands in the industry while enjoying employee-only discounts and exclusive vendor deals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Identifying customer needs and assisting with firearm, ammunition, and hunting product selection.
  • Processing firearm transactions in full compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Accurately completing required documentation, including ATF Form 4473.
  • Maintaining knowledge of hunting and firearm products, trends, and industry best practices.
  • Properly fitting hunting packs.
  • Maintaining a secure, clean, and organized department, including merchandising and stock management.
  • Providing accurate pricing and sales information.
  • Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
Required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and legally able to own and possess a firearm.
  • Demonstrated passion for hunting, firearms, and the outdoor industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of firearms, including makes and models, optics, and hunting practices.
  • Strong understanding of firearm regulations and ability to accurately complete required documentation with attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to confidently approach, assist, and educate customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical decision-making ability.
  • Organized, proactive, and punctual with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous retail or related technical experience is preferred.

    • The schedule for this position includes day and evening shifts Monday through Saturday between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Shifts are available in 4-, 6-, and 8-hour blocks.
      This can be a full-time or part-time role. Full-time hours range from 30-40 hours per week, and part-time hours range from 18-29 hours per week. Saturday and holiday availability is required.
