What is a hunting sales associate?

Hunting Sales Associates are retail professionals who specialize in assisting customers with hunting-related products and equipment. They provide knowledgeable guidance on firearms, ammunition, hunting apparel, and accessories, ensuring customers select the right gear for their needs. These associates may also handle inventory, process transactions, and maintain compliance with safety and legal regulations related to hunting products. Excellent customer service, product expertise, and adherence to store and legal policies are essential aspects of their role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a hunting sales associate?

To thrive as a Hunting Sales Associate, you need strong knowledge of hunting equipment, firearms, and outdoor gear, often supported by sales experience and, in some areas, relevant licensing or permits. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software is typically required. Excellent customer service, communication, and a passion for the outdoors help build trust and rapport with customers. These skills ensure accurate product recommendations, compliant sales, and a positive shopping experience that drives customer loyalty.

What are some common challenges faced by a hunting sales associate and how can they be addressed?

Hunting Sales Associates often face the challenge of staying updated on an ever-changing inventory of specialized products and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations for firearm and ammunition sales. To overcome these challenges, associates should routinely participate in product training sessions and stay informed about current laws and store policies. Building strong product knowledge and maintaining excellent customer service are key to assisting both novice and experienced customers effectively. Collaborating closely with team members and management also helps ensure a smooth workflow and up-to-date compliance practices.

Job description

You are here: Home / Careers / Associate Account Executive – US

Associate Account Executive is an entry–to–mid level hunter responsible for generating new business pipeline and supporting the full sales cycle for ControlCase’s cybersecurity and compliance solutions. You will focus on outbound prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and progressing deals in close partnership with senior Account Executives, with a clear path to full AE responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities through outbound channels (cold calls, email sequences, LinkedIn, events).
  • Conduct initial discovery calls to understand customer pain points around compliance, audit readiness, and cybersecurity risk.
  • Clearly articulate ControlCase’s value proposition and schedule deeper discovery or demo meetings for senior Account Executives.
  • Support AEs in managing opportunities through the sales cycle, including research, meeting preparation, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate activity, contact, and opportunity data in the CRM and support reliable pipeline and forecast hygiene.
  • Collaborate with marketing on follow-up to inbound leads, campaigns, and events to convert interest into qualified opportunities.
  • Learn and apply a consultative sales approach tailored to security, risk, and compliance stakeholders (CISO, CIO, Compliance, IT).
  • Continuously build knowledge of key frameworks (PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, HITRUST, etc.) and how ControlCase helps customers achieve and maintain compliance.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly KPIs for outreach, meetings set, and qualified pipeline created.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in SaaS, IT services, cybersecurity, or other technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in an outbound or SDR/BDR role (cold calling, email prospecting, social selling).
  • Strong interest in cybersecurity, compliance, and helping customers solve complex risk and audit challenges.
  • Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to speak to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a metrics-driven, high-activity environment with a hunter mindset.
  • Experience with a CRM (Salesforce or similar) and sales engagement tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related field preferred.
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary with variable compensation based on meetings and pipeline created.
  • Training and mentorship from experienced Account Executives and sales leadership.
  • Structured development path to full Account Executive responsibilities.
  • Exposure to a high-growth cybersecurity and compliance environment, with opportunities for rapid career progression.

If you’d like, tell me the exact territory, quota style (pipeline created vs closed revenue), and whether they inherit any inbound, and I can tighten this further to match your internal levels and comp band.
