This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Atlantic Fields, set outside of Hobe Sound, FL
Atlantic Fields is seeking a Fishing Guide to join the Outdoor Pursuits Department.
The Outdoor Pursuits Guide will ensure that the highest level of service is offered to the members of our Club by providing the member with personal and professional service throughout the property when pertaining to any and all outdoor activities. The Outdoor Pursuits Guide role is a very hands on role and encompasses the organization, instructing, and encouraging of activities, and as much participation as possible in all activities on property. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

Lead members on guided fishing experiences across inshore, offshore, and freshwater environments, ensuring a safe, engaging, and memorable outing

Provide instruction on casting techniques, bait selection, rigging, and fish handling to guests of all skill levels

Maintain all fishing equipment, rods, reels, tackle, and vessels in proper working condition, conducting routine inspections and reporting maintenance needs

Monitor weather, tidal, and environmental conditions to plan and adapt trips accordingly

Instruct and participate in activities for members and guests during operational hours as well as during organized club and family events.

Partner with OP and Club Management to enhance Outdoor Pursuits offerings during club and family events.

Collaborate with OP Management and team members to continue to modify, evolve and innovate the amenities and experiences offered in the Outdoor Pursuits department.

Keep a detailed inventory of all Outdoor Pursuits equipment to include pre -use, weekly and monthly checks on club assets

Maintain accurate financial records and work within authorized budgeted resources.

Implementation and oversight of safety policies and compliance from staff and members.

Instruct and participate in OP activities with all members and prospects to include but not limited to archery, axe throwing, equestrian operations, fishing and racquet sports.

Accompany and supervise participants to both on and off-site events and safely transport them in a company vehicle.

Maintain facilities and equipment in a clean, safe, and secure manner.

Participate in overnight camping experiences on property as requested.

Complete daily set-up/breakdown of department activities per the departments SOP.

Demonstrate or train others on safe and effective usage of all Outdoor Pursuits activities.

Any other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

Superior knowledge of lake, inland and offshore fishing.

Proven experience as a fishing guide or professional angler in inshore/offshore or freshwater environments

- Previous experience in the guest service industry.

Strong knowledge of South Florida fishing regulations, species, and seasonal patterns

CPR certification is a positive-Boat captains license a plus.

CPR/First Aid certified or willing to certify upon hire

U.S. Coast Guard OUPV (Captain's License) preferred or ability to obtain.

-Experience in hospitality is preferred but not required

- Ability to work flexible hours and on weekends and holidays.

Passion for the outdoors and commitment to conservation and responsible fishing practices

Additional Requirements

Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.

Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
