We pride ourselves on top-notch customer service and a wide range of products to meet every outdoor enthusiast's needs.


Position Summary
Hilltop Sports is seeking enthusiastic, customer-oriented individuals to join our team as seasonal Cashiers / Front of House Personnel at our Greenville, MI location. This is a seasonal position running August through December, with the possibility of conversion to full-time for the right team member. You'll be the first point of contact for our guests — greeting them warmly, keeping transactions accurate, and making sure every visit is a positive one. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in accuracy, and can keep a steady, professional presence during busy periods. If you're passionate about the outdoors, enjoy interacting with customers, and want to earn some extra money this holiday season, this role is perfect for you.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet every customer warmly and provide courteous, service-oriented support

  • Answer basic questions and direct customers to the right department or sales associate

  • Run the front counter — process cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently on the POS

  • Issue DNR hunting and fishing licenses (training provided)

  • Collect and enter customer information into our system

  • Process and create archery and firearms work orders

  • Resolve simple guest concerns with professionalism and escalate when appropriate

  • Keep the front of the store clean, stocked, organized, and welcoming

  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning to maintain a tidy store environment

  • Back-tag merchandise and assist with light stocking, merchandising, and inventory during downtime

  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

Required Qualifications

  • Reliable and punctual — you show up and follow through

  • Genuinely good with people, with strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Honest and trustworthy with cash and transactions

  • Strong attention to detail and confidence with basic arithmetic

  • Ability to multitask and handle transactions accurately at a busy counter

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and work order processing

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and stay active during shifts

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Willing to learn our products and the basics of DNR licensing (we'll train you)

  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

  • Previous cashier or front-of-house experience

  • Experience handling cash and card transactions in a high-volume environment

  • Familiarity with point-of-sale workflows and front-of-house operations

  • Comfort staying calm and courteous in a fast-paced setting

Compensation & Perks
