Human Services Supervisor for our Senior Congregate Nutrition Service in Tacoma, WA.ย 

Full-time, $25 per hour,ย Medical/Vision/ Dental, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, 11 Paid Holidays, 401(k) after 1 year, Full Time, M-f, 8:30 - 5, non-exempt.

1. Purpose of Position

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nutrition program, including meal preparation, home delivery, and participant services. This role involves training and supervising staff, ensuring program compliance, monitoring participant data, and managing participants' attendance tracking using QR codes. MUST BE FLUENT IN KOREAN, in addition to English, is required to effectively communicate with and serve diverse community members.

2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the congregate meal program and home-delivered meal services, adhering to the safety policy and procedure.
  • Lead and supervise the nutrition staff to ensure contract goals and service requirements are met.
  • Create and update the annual Menu with the Registered Dietitian.
  • Complete the CFPM (Certified Food Protection Manager) within 6 months.
  • Organize and conduct monthly staff meetings and provide ongoing training for staff.
  • Tranlate and interpret training materials into Korean for kitchen staff to ensure effective communication.
  • Conduct or facilitate health and nutrition education sessions for program participants, working with the Registered Dietician.
  • Serve as the point of contact for emergency procedures at the meal site, coordinating with the Division Manager.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of USDA reports to the Division Manager.
  • Input and monitor participant data in the GetCare system on a monthly basis with accuracy.
  • Generate and update QR codes for new participants as needed.
  • Conduct formal evaluations of each staff member at least once a year.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

3. Educational Level

  • Minimum: Associate's degree (AA) from a community college.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree (BA) in Social Services, Human Services, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Experience Minimum of two years of paid experience in social services, human services, public health, or a related field.

4. Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a criminal history and reference check.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and other Asian (speaking, reading, and writing required).
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Strong understanding of the local community and effective outreach strategies.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including data entry, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Calendar).
  • Ability to produce well-written reports and communications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks under time constraints and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
