Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Security Officer, you will maintain the highest level of safety and security by patrolling assigned areas, diligently deterring, detecting, and investigating suspicious activity or crime.

Every day you will effectively monitor electronic surveillance equipment and hospital emergency systems, dispatch appropriate personnel via radio, and actively patrol to protect individuals and property, all while embodying our core values and supporting strategic quality improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional vigilance, strong observational skills, proficiency in electronic surveillance and dispatch systems, and a commitment to protecting our community while upholding our organizational values and contributing to a secure environment.

  • Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner. Calls may include incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, or to emergency codes, and requests for opening doors. Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed; and report unsafe acts or conditions.

  • Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including of radios and hospital codes.

  • Reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports. Ensures that all activities are logged. That incident reports are accurately completed that they are clear, concise, legible and submitted in a timely manner.

  • Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to right location. Keeping the organization's mission, vision and values at the forefront of all decision making and action.

  • One (1) year experience as a Security Officer, upon hire

  • Security Guard: CA, upon hire and

  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days and

  • Driver's License: CA, within 30 Days
