Volunteers of America–Greater New York (VOA–Greater New York) is a leading anti-poverty organization serving neighbors in need across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester. Through 70+ programs, we support over 35,000 adults and children each year, including individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, youth aging out of foster care, veterans, seniors, and children with developmental delays.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: Human Resources Operations Coordinator (Hybrid)

The HR Operations Coordinator provides administrative support to the Director of HR Operations and is responsible for HR transactional documentation and maintaining the HR Information System including data entry and data integrity. The role supports the benefits department in the area of leave management.

Location: New York, NY 10020

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred plus two years of experience in a related field, or satisfactory combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, the ability to work well with others, prioritize and take initiative.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Experience with HR Information Systems required.
Human Resources Operations Coordinator Principal Responsibilities:
  • Enter data for all employment life cycle transactions into the HR Information System.
  • Initiate and track payroll change notices for all HR transactions in coordination with HR management and payroll.
  • Ensure data integrity, conduct analysis and reporting related to the HR Information System. Conduct periodic system audits and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Review and submit accurate time and attendance for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Support the Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) in disseminating leave procedures and forms to eligible employees utilizing benefits, and update leave status in Dayforce.
  • Report and monitor claims with our third-party administrators for Worker’s Compensation, Short Term Disability, Paid Family Leave, etc. Ensure all requested information is received timely to ensure compliance and proper payment to employees.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
