Job description

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Operations Manager supervises HR operations staff and daily departmental workflow, ensuring peak efficiency at a community health center with sites in Lower Manhattan and Jackson Heights, Queens. Their role focuses on implementing and refining core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, payroll, benefits, training, and employee relations.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with senior staff on strategies for staff retention, professional development, and optimization of productivity and quality of care outcomes
  • Oversee the updating and implementation of onboarding, orientation, training, and staff safety program
  • Manage HRIS updates, reporting, and employee records
  • Coordinate payroll, benefits administration, and offboarding processes
  • Support employee and labor relations, including oversight of a system for performance appraisals, staff recognition, counseling, and grievances
  • Ensure compliance with Workers’ Compensation and employment regulations

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years’ experience managing HR processes
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory position, preferably in a health care setting
  • SHRM certification preferred
  • Skilled in HRIS utilization and benefits administration
  • Familiarity with unionized environments
