We are seeking a Safety Intern at our Rhinelander, Wisconsin plant for Summer 2027. This position will assist the Production Team in the achievement of safety, quality, production, cost, and product development objectives of a paper machine process line. We offer the opportunity to work in an engaged, team-focused environment while building related skills and experience for your future.
Pay Rate
  • $27.00 per hour

Requirements
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Enrolled in an OHS, Paper Science, or similar Engineering degree program
  • Living in or willing to relocate to the Rhinelander, Wisconsin area from June - August 2027
  • Ability to work full-time for the duration of the position
  • Strong technical aptitude and proven problem-solving abilities
  • Strong time management skills and highly self-motivated
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization

Responsibilities
  • Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper
  • Assist and/or lead safety, productivity, quality, efficiency, cost control, compliance, and housekeeping projects
  • Support safety manager in leading plant safety improvement efforts, including daily and long term activities

Support operations/maintenance efforts and drive continuous improvement
