Job description

Strategic Leadership

  • In partnership with the SVP, develop and communicate the business unit’s long‑term vision, goals, and growth strategies.
  • Partner with Finance and Corporate Legal on bidding strategy, risk mitigation and contract negotiations.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day‑to‑day division operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and in compliance with all regulations.
  • Collaborate with Division managers on an on-going basis to review project statuses, analyze deviations, and determine where action may be required to meet the expectations of project success.
  • Coach and provide executive guidance, when required, during executive estimate/bid reviews.
  • Visibly champion the Company’s Safety in the Workplace programs, with a focus on eliminating injuries to employee’s and overall incidents.

Team Development & Culture

  • Build, mentor and retain a world‑class leadership team—fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Coach direct reports on safety, quality, cost control and client engagement.
  • Champion Primoris’ core values in every decision and interaction.
  • Collaborate with Division Manager’s to ensure resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Partner with HR to support a healthy culture, support employee’s, and identify opportunities for meaningful incentivization.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary executive liaison with key clients, strengthening relationships and identifying future opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences and forums.

Reporting & Governance

  • Ensure compliance reporting (safety audits, quality inspections, regulatory filings, monthly reports, financial statements) is submitted on time and accurately.
  • Foster transparency and alignment by collaborating regularly with your leadership team and executive management—reviewing results, discussing challenges, and aligning on priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Business, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree; MBA preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • 5+ years in operations leadership within the energy or industrial construction sector.
  • 10+ years managing large‑scale heavy civil projects ($75M+), with proven P&L responsibility.
  • Deep understanding of heavy civil construction, regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Strong financial acumen—forecasting, budgeting, cost control and margin optimization.
  • Contract negotiation and risk assessment in complex project environments.
  • Technical literacy: interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data; proficient in MS excel, outlook, teams; experience with various ERP systems.
