General Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Intern for Fall 2026 with possible extension into Spring 2027 based on operational needs. The HR Intern will play an active role in supporting core HR operations and will gain hands-on experience in how effective HR practices contribute to a productive, engaged, and successful workforce.
Throughout the internship, the intern will learn about current HR practices, applicable employment laws, confidentiality standards, and how HR technology and systems are used to improve efficiency and enhance the employee experience. The intern will support key HR functions, contribute to special projects, and complete a capstone project identified during the internship period. This experience is designed to support professional development and help the intern identify areas of interest within the Human Resources field.
This internship is ideal for individuals who are passionate about pursuing a career in Human Resources, eager to learn, and thrive in a collaborative environment where innovation and creativity are valued. By the end of the internship, the intern will have gained practical HR experience and a deeper understanding of how HR strategies support organizational success and employee satisfaction.
This position will report on-site to our Administration Building in Kissimmee. The intern will work 20 hours per week during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., throughout the internship period.
Essential Functions
  • Support the Human Resources team with day-to-day administrative and operational activities and provide general support for HR initiatives.
  • Collaborate on various HR projects, supporting effective execution and contributing to the broader goals and objectives of the department.
  • Assist with job description audits to assess accuracy, consistency, and alignment with current roles, responsibilities, organizational structure, and position requirements.
  • Support recruitment activities by coordinating requisitions and job postings, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, tracking applicants, and maintaining accurate recruitment records.
  • Facilitate new-hire onboarding activities by preparing onboarding materials, coordinating orientation schedules, processing required documentation, and helping ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience.
  • Develop internal HR communications to keep employees informed of important updates, programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Create, organize, and maintain HR SharePoint sites, including updating content, managing documents, organizing resources, and ensuring information remains accurate, accessible, and up to date.
  • Format, organize, and standardize HR documents and records to ensure consistency, accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established HR guidelines and templates.
  • Support annual benefits open enrollment activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED from an approved GED administrator
  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of an undergraduate or graduate program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
  • Ability to demonstrate intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or similar document management systems
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe, or other design tools
