Responsibilities
As an Advanced Flight Deck Human Factors Systems Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be part of our Anthem Integrated Flight Deck platform team that is focused on the advancement of Honeywell's Avionics technologies and human-machine interaction. You will work alongside a diverse team of engineers, developers and designers to create and implement forward-thinking Avionics solutions that apply foundational human factors principles to system design.
As a flagship product, the Honeywell Anthem Flight Deck System is not just another avionics product; it is a visionary endeavor that employs cutting-edge technologies to redefine how pilots interact with flight information and aircraft systems.
Responsibilities
  • Support Human Factors integration across Flight Deck and Avionics system architectures
  • Contribute to system architecture for major avionics domains, flight deck features, or architectural areas within the Anthem Flight Deck platform.
  • Human Factors analyses, Design recommendations, and compliance artifacts
  • Support pilot interaction evaluations with avionics systems across normal, abnormal, and emergency scenarios
  • Work with cross-functional teams and leadership in supporting the definition and governance of system architectures, interfaces, design principles, and technical standards across programs and product variants
  • Work with technical leadership to ensure application of human factors and cognitive engineering principles at the platform level, including workload, situation awareness, error tolerance, and automation design
  • Participate or support the resolution of root cause investigations spanning hardware, software, human interaction, and system integration boundaries
  • Flight deck HMI development, including displays, alerts, controls, and automation logic
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in systems engineering, human factors, and flight deck technology.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Systems Engineering with an emphasis in Human Factors

  • Advanced Degree in Human Factors, Psychology, or Cognitive Science is of value.
  • Proficiency in general systems engineering methodologies and tools
  • Knowledgeable in the domains of Human Factors and/or pilot interaction.
  • Familiarity with flight deck architectures (PFD, MFD, FMS) is of value.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, enjoying to work collaboratively in a team environment.
