Job description

Flowserve is seeking an HSE Site Manager / Supervisor to lead Health, Safety, and Environmental operations across our Pasadena/ Deer Park Location. In this role, you will take full ownership of HSE programs across three co-located Quick Response Centers (QRCs)-Pumps, Valves, and Seals-supporting a team of approximately 300 manufacturing and support personnel.

We are seeking a collaborative, self-motivated safety leader who believes strong safety culture is built through active shop-floor presence and genuine partnership with front-line teams. You will receive corporate policy frameworks and audit schedules, then work directly with site operations to establish practical work instructions, identify operational improvements, and coordinate solutions from start to finish.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Position Culture: We are seeking a collaborative, self-motivated safety leader who believes strong safety culture is built through active shop-floor presence and genuine partnership with front-line teams. You will receive corporate policy frameworks and audit schedules, then work directly with site operations to establish practical work instructions, identify operational improvements, and coordinate solutions from start to finish.
  • HSE Program Leadership & Accountability: Lead and own the site's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program. Establish annual HSE objectives, drive site-wide safety initiatives, monitor performance metrics, and ensure accountability through effective delegation, coaching, and partnership with operational leaders. Foster shared ownership of safety by empowering supervisors and employees to actively participate in achieving HSE goals and sustaining a strong safety culture.
  • Shop Floor Engagement & Partnership: Spend daily time on the manufacturing floor building strong relationships, trust, and mutual accountability across machining, assembly, and test areas.
  • End-to-End Problem Resolution: Proactively identify equipment and facility opportunities (e.g., machine guarding, PPE compliance, ergonomic layout), source vendor solutions, and drive corrective projects through execution.
  • Site Work Instructions: Translate corporate HSE policies into clear, actionable, site-specific work instructions across all three QRC facilities (Pumps, Valves, Seals).
  • Audit & Compliance Management: Manage campus audit readiness, maintain regulatory documentation (OSHA/EPA), conduct incident root-cause investigations, and implement preventive measures.
  • Operational Teamwork: Serve as an active, approachable partner on the site leadership team, helping plant leads achieve operational targets safely and efficiently. Lead the site's HSE strategy while collaborating with supervisors, operations leaders, and functional teams to delegate responsibilities, drive accountability, and ensure successful execution of safety programs and compliance initiatives.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: 3-7+ years of progressive HSE coordination, supervision, or site management experience in industrial manufacturing, machining, heavy equipment, or service shop environments.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Demonstrated active floor presence with a track record of practical problem-solving and building positive rapport with front-line personnel.
  • Regulatory Proficiency: Solid understanding of OSHA, EPA, and local compliance standards, with experience translating corporate frameworks into site-level procedures.
  • Self-Motivation: High degree of personal drive; able to independently manage projects from risk identification to final vendor implementation without needing direct oversight.
  • Education: BS degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience.
  • Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead site-wide HSE programs through collaboration, delegation, and influence. Experience building accountability across operations teams and engaging leaders at all levels to achieve safety objectives.

WHY JOIN FLOWSERVE

  • Culture Builder: High autonomy to foster a positive, supportive safety culture alongside site management.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Full health coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and long-term professional development opportunities across Flowserve's global network.
