Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides leadership, oversight, and technical expertise for the implementation of all environmental projects, including stormwater management, SPCC, spill response, waste management, air compliance, site investigations, remediation, and reclamation projects. Position will perform responsible, and often independent, technical and administrative tasks in support of client-specific environmental compliance action items.
We are seeking a motivated, team-oriented individual with 1 to 3 years of experience. Candidates with limited experience may also be considered if they demonstrate strong initiative and aptitude. This position is based in our Rifle, Colorado office. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Clean driving record, and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug screening as applicable.
  • Ability to pass background screening as applicable.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to remote sites to meet project demands as needed, utilizing a company vehicle.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated).
  • Teachable, fast learning, and willing to learn new skill sets.
  • Willing to attend environmental training courses when applicable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • With assistance, interpret, consult, and apply local, tribal, state, and federal regulations regarding environmental compliance principles and practices.
  • Under supervision, provide technical expertise for environmental services including plan preparation, inspection, and documentation.
  • Including spill response/reporting, ECMC Form 19 and Form 27 frameworks, and remediation.
  • Under supervision generate waste profiles for various waste streams.
  • Generate and submit annual state reporting forms.
  • Track waste approvals, generator information, hauling records, and disposal quantities.
  • Conduct site inspections, monitoring, and data management for regulatory and environmental compliance projects following applicable regulations.
  • Proficient in tasks including field sampling of soil, surface water, and groundwater.
  • Understanding and interpretation of soil and water quality laboratory data.
  • Excellent report writing and data analysis skills.
  • Input, manage, and utilize inspection and other data (e.g. Geographic Information System (GIS)) and communications using Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Log soil borings and oversee the installation of groundwater monitoring wells.
  • Know environmental drilling technologies and how to apply them for site specific site assessments.
  • Maintain project/client files and records.
  • Adhere to and support company policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Familiar with environmental regulations including but not limited to CDPHE, ECMC, SPCC, RCRA, CAA, CWA, ESA, OCD, and BLM.
  • Ability to communicate well with others effectively (both written and verbal) in fast-paced and potentially demanding circumstances.
  • Solid understanding of sampling protocols and techniques per EPA or state standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong professional writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet client deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication ability with clients, staff, and regulatory agencies.
  • Sound documentation, recordkeeping, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong map reading skills.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • HAZWOPER certification (Preferred but not required).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The position is primarily completed in the field and will require periods of extended walking, hiking, and standing in uneven, rocky terrain.
  • Exposure to extreme weather including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Long periods of driving from the office to various sites will be necessary.
  • Be Team oriented, and bring a family-friendly culture.

Compensation
$57,000.00 - $75,000.00 yearly
