Opportunity
PeopleTec is currently seeking a Human Resource Generalist to support our Huntsville, AL location.
We are seeking a highly organized and mission-focused Human Resources Generalist to support a government customer in Huntsville, AL. This position provides direct support to military, government civilian, and contractor personnel by coordinating personnel actions, maintaining timekeeping systems, and managing HR-related administrative processes. The successful candidate will exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion in a fast-paced environment, while supporting the daily operations of a senior-level DoD office. The role requires excellent communication and technical skills, familiarity with government HR systems and protocols, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.
The candidate will provide comprehensive administrative, personnel management, talent management, training, and human resources support services to the Department of the Army, Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires organization. The individual shall support both civilian and military personnel by providing timely, accurate, and professional HR services that enhance workforce readiness, organizational effectiveness, and mission accomplishment while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and Army guidance.
Duties:
The selected candidate will provide comprehensive civilian personnel support including:
  • Civilian onboarding and in-processing for PAE Fires HQ employees as a back-up to primary In/Out Processing POC.
  • Out-processing and separation processing for PAE Fires HQ Staff.
  • Research and review available resources for alternative processes including post services available for employee use.
  • Workforce realignment support including tracking and managing completion of large HR initiatives and tasking status reporting including maintaining SITREP of major undertakings and current completion status of efforts.
  • Civilian awards administration including preparation and coordination of packets, awards paperwork, and appropriate documentation and records retention.
  • Incentive awards processing for assistance with coordinating and tracking time off Awards (TOA) and maintaining logs of annual allotments and employee threshold management for compliance and controls.
  • Honorary awards coordination for external to the organization honorary award packets including tracking and maintaining nominations and packet materials and reviewing and editing materials to adhere to award submission guidelines.
  • Officer personnel administration including supporting the military personnel office in officer in/out processing as needed to the organization.
  • Permanent Change of Station (PCS) processing coordination with the travel office
  • Assist Military Personnel Office with overseeing the procedures and completion of Automated Leave administration.
  • Military evaluations management. - Assist Military Personnel Office with completing as needed Officer Evaluation Report (OER).
  • Provide Military awards administration support as needed to the Military Personnel Office.
  • Civilian personnel suspense management.
  • Personnel data quality reviews including assisting Staffing Specialist with conducting and compiling post staffing audits and maintain audit control records on annual veteran reporting, ADA, and special appointing authorities usage, and maintaining staffing case files IAW Army recordkeeping requirements.
  • Coordinate the attendance, enrollment, and post course follow-up and tracking completion of WARu sponsored and PAE Fires led leadership development and professional development programs.
  • Support civilian career program initiatives.
  • Coordinate and oversee the logistics and tracking of all developmental and rotational assignments within the organization including not to exceed dates and extensions that require HR action.
  • Support mentoring programs as a liaison with the Talent Management Team for assisting with the registration for "Mentored IN" internal training program and in establishing mentee enrollments in the tool and facilitating agreements with mentors and mentees and tracking completion of agreements, post cycle feedback form mentees and mentor post cycle feedback for record retention and in the continual process program improvement efforts.
  • Support acquisition workforce initiatives including WARu local collective training opportunities by assisting with registrations and coordination of details of events including location, date/time, and identifying and confirming completion of pre-requisite efforts for attendees prior to scheduled training.
  • Assist with compiling annual and quarterly training metrics including attendance, post course feedback summaries, and ROI metrics for senior leadership.
  • Supporting new employee orientation by assisting with registrations and material updates and providing assistance with briefer coordination and securing locations and dates.
  • Preparing training reports to identify completion rates, attendance rates for in-house offered training sessions to analyze future workforce development offerings and metrics on post survey completion and personnel training satisfaction.
  • Assist the Talent Management Team with the development and input for creation of leadership and workforce training briefing materials as requested by the Training Management Specialist.
  • Monitor existing internal and external suspense dates for Request for Information (RFI) and collaborate multiple HR section reports to respond to and close RFIs.
  • Prepare and compile PAE Fires staffing packages that require PAE/DPAE or Chief of Staff approvals and review.

Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
  • 3-5 years of related Industry, Government Human Resources, or administrative experience providing civilian human resources, military personnel administration, talent management, workforce development, or executive administrative support within the Department of Defense (DoD) related HR programs.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and discretion in handling personnel information and sensitive communications.
  • Ability to work effectively across diverse military, civilian, and contractor teams.
  • Must have a current driver's license.
  • Travel: Less than 10%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have a Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this clearance level during employment.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources is preferred but not required.
  • Some experience may be substituted if candidate has a higher-level degree in a related field.

Desired Skills:
  • Optional certification in Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is a plus.
