Position Summary

The Leave and Retirement Plan Administration Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategy, administration, and compliance of all leave-related programs, including Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, life/disability, and other leave of absence programs as well as administration of the retirement program.
Reporting to the Managing Director of Benefits and Wellness, this role ensures consistent, compliant, and associate-focused leave practices while delivering operational excellence and exceptional service to internal customers. The Manager leads the development of processes, policies, and partnerships that support both employees and the organization, ensuring a balanced approach to compliance, care, and efficiency. The Intranet & Internal Communications Specialist assists the Communications Director in the execution of corporate communications strategies and related initiatives for First Busey Corporation subsidiaries. Further, it is the responsibility of this individual to coordinate internal and external communications as it relates to non-product information, strategic initiatives and other corporate information, while effectively representing Busey to our 4 Pillars - associates, customers, shareholders and communities. This role also supports the maintenance, administration and ongoing enhancement of Busey's intranet platform, ensuring content remains current, accurate and accessible for associates.Duties & Responsibilities

Leave Strategy & Program Oversight

  • Oversee the organization's leave administration strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
  • Lead administration of all leave programs, including FMLA, personal leaves, military leave, and other applicable programs
  • Ensure programs are consistent, equitable, and aligned with company policies and values
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and other applicable regulations
  • Partner with Legal, HR, and Risk Management to mitigate risk and address complex cases
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and adjust policies and practices accordingly

Life & Disability Administration

  • Oversee administration of short term and long term disability, worksite benefits, and life insurance claims
  • Partner with the vendor, ensure timely follow up and processing of claims
  • Provide associate support and guidance for a seamless experience

ADA & Workplace Accomodations

  • Oversee the interactive process for ADA accommodations, ensuring timely, compliant, and employee-centered outcomes
  • Partner with leaders and HR Business Partners to implement reasonable accommodations effectively
  • Provide guidance and expertise on complex or sensitive accommodation situations

Workers' Compensation Oversight

  • Lead workers' compensation program administration, including claim management, vendor coordination, and return-to-work programs
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of claims and reduce organizational risk
  • Identify trends and provide strategies to improve outcomes and reduce costs

Retirement Plan Administration

  • Lead administration of the retirement plan including enrollment, eligibility, contributions, distributions, loans, and rollovers
  • Develop and execute plan communication, education and engagement strategies
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations
  • Assist with Profit Sharing and year-end testing, annual audits, plan documents and disclosures
Education & Experience

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-4 years of experience in leave administration, HR compliance, or benefits operations
  • Deep knowledge of FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and related regulations
  • Experience managing complex leave and accommodation cases
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
  • Knowledge of retirement plans and related regulations
  • Experience managing retirement plan administration

Compensation and Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $60,000 - 80,000/yr)
