Job description

HPE NonStop Modernization Engineer

Location: Remote


Overview

Seeking an experienced HPE NonStop Modernization Engineer to support the migration and modernization of the AIRES application from HPE NonStop environments in the client's Washington and Phoenix data centers to a modern architecture. The ideal candidate will have expertise in HPE NonStop, SQL/MX, legacy application modernization, and enterprise migration projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead migration efforts from HPE NonStop to target platforms, including Azure where applicable.
  • Assess existing application, database, and infrastructure environments and develop migration strategies.
  • Support SQL/MX migration and modernization activities.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, development, database, and security teams.
  • Perform migration testing, validation, troubleshooting, and post-migration support.
  • Create migration documentation, runbooks, and technical procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture and security standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience with HPE NonStop environments.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL/MX and legacy application modernization.
  • Experience supporting enterprise migration initiatives.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure cloud migrations.
  • Knowledge of COBOL, TAL, TACL, Pathway, and SQL/MX.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Experience with DevOps, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Background supporting mission-critical enterprise systems.
