Compensation Range: $65,000 - $73,000 yearly commensurate with experience
Benefits:

Overview:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, budget management, government grants and contract compliance, HRSA Section 330 grant administration, revenue cycle operations, and internal controls. This position serves as a key leader within the Finance Department and partners closely with operational, clinical, and the Executive Director to support the organization's financial performance, compliance, and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate possesses strong nonprofit accounting expertise, extensive knowledge of federally qualified health center (FQHC) funding and compliance requirements, experience managing government grants and contracts, and a proven ability to drive operational improvements across accounting and revenue cycle functions.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Oversee annual audit preparation and coordinate requests from external auditors.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support organizational operations.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities.
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations and recommendations to leadership.
  • Prepare financial presentations and reports for executive leadership, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.
  • Provide financial oversight of HRSA Section 330 grant programs and related funding streams.
  • Ensure compliance with HRSA financial requirements, Notice of Award conditions, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and applicable federal regulations.
  • Oversee grant budgeting, expenditure tracking, financial reporting, and drawdown activities.
  • Coordinate annual Uniform Guidance audits and HRSA operational site visit (OSV) financial preparedness.
  • Oversee fiscal administration of federal, state, city, and private grants and contracts
  • Provide financial leadership and oversight of revenue cycle operations, including billing, collections, accounts receivable, denial management, and reimbursement optimization.
  • Collaborate with billing and operational leadership to improve cash collections, reduce aging receivables, and strengthen reimbursement performance.
  • Build and maintain financial relationships with funders
  • Manage contractors relating to finance area
  • Provide support for special projects and process improvement initiatives within the Finance department

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing HRSA Section 330 funding and FQHC financial operations strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
