Job description

Shifts Available: Friday-Sunday (6a-6p), Monday-Thurs (4p-2a)
The Press Helper will be responsible for assisting with the setup of the presses; providing support; enabling press operators to maintain production rates, scrap rates, and safety standards; assisting in cleaning press and area after production runs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble print cylinders and dies.
  • Ensure all materials are available to run an order and all specifications are met.
  • Assist press operators to set up press runs.
  • Maintain inks, raw material, laminate, and cores in adequate order to perform requirements of an order.
  • Completes required documentation.
  • Lifts up to minimum 50 pounds frequently throughout the day.
  • Maintain an organized department including equipment, ink storage, cleanup area and work area at all times.
  • Inform press operator of problems with material needed for production.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school
  • Has proficient understanding of principles in one or more functions. Typically possesses minimum of one year of relevant work experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos
  • Knowledge of mechanics and hazard communication standards and material safety data sheets
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Properly uses safety gear, including ear protection, glasses, back-support belt and safety shoes as required or recommended.
  • Performs single function tasks that tend to be of moderate size and scope

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc. 21% to 50% of work time
  • Incumbent constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push/pull, bend, stoop, twisting and use of manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time
  • Incumbent regularly required to hear, speak, and use color vision
  • Incumbent regularly required to carry and lift up to 50lbs
  • Work with rotating equipment, hazardous equipment, and safety sensitive equipment
