We’re looking for paid participants to record everyday activities in our Menlo Park lab using a multi-camera setup (head, chest, and wrist-mounted cameras). Your recordings will help train robots to better understand and interact with the real world. No technical experience required, just your time, attention to detail and willingness to follow simple instructions! This is a part-time, office-based role requiring presence to record on a consistent schedule.

What to Expect
  • Flexible scheduling - come in at least 3–5 times per week based on your availability
  • A typical arrangement is 3x a week, filming for 2-4 hours depending on your schedule/preferences
  • No robotics or technical background needed
  • Project runs month-to-month based on performance and availability
  • Learn and be exposed to physical AI and robotics from a team from Harvard, MIT, Berkeley and Pomona College
Day In the Life

You’ll come in during your shifts to record yourself performing common, everyday tasks in our lab or nearby businesses such as:

  • Picking up, placing, stacking and organizing objects
  • Sorting items by size, color or category
  • Using simple tools (e.g., scissors, screwdriver, utensils)
  • Cleaning, wiping, or tidying surfaces
  • Folding laundry or arranging items
  • Reaching for and placing objects at different distances

Compensation

  • $22.00 per hour of usable footage you produce (e.g. time spent not doing meaningful activities useful for robotics training or following our QA guidelines does not count e.g. using your phone, sitting/standing idle).
  • 1099 independent contractor role (no benefits or equity)
  • No cap on hours you can work

Who You Are

  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to travel to Menlo Park
  • Authorized to work in the US (a citizen or green card holder), no CPT/OPT/STEM OPT
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions carefully
  • Comfortable performing light physical tasks (standing, reaching, handling objects)
  • Able to move naturally and deliberately during recordings
  • Reliable and punctual for scheduled sessions
  • Willing to complete a background check
