Job description

To assist supervisor with the day-to-day activities and the production floor to help improve Safety, Quality, Operational Uptime and Efficiency. To operate as a trainer and coach for new and current team members to ensure safety and productivity for the manufacturing environment


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ·         Be obsessed with Safety of all employees and outside contractors in the building

·         Be obsessed with the Quality of the parts being produced

·         Ensure all quality standards are being met and record correctly in Plex

·         Teaching and guiding employees on how to work safe and how to produce quality parts

·         Assign all hourly production employees to their daily assignments

·         Making sure everyone on the floor is following all PPE expectations

·         Complete daily audits in all areas of the production floor that are assigned

·         Complete daily End of Shift pass-down reports

·         Report all equipment damage and property damage to appropriate resources as required

·         Monitor production schedule and report all issues to Production Supervisor

·         Complete regular area 5S/Housekeeping inspections

·         Keep work in progress (WIP) and finished goods area organized

·         Evaluate all inventory placed on hold, sort, and rework

·         Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

·         Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards

·         Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, welding symbols, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

·         Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task

·         Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change

·         Working safely as a condition of employment

Physical Demands

The physical demands outlined below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. ·         Standing long hours (10+ hours) 

·         Walking, Sitting, Crouching, Bending frequently                                                           

·         Pick up/move weight up to 50 Pounds occasionally       

Education/Experience/Certifications:

To effectively perform duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:

Education: 

·         High School Diploma or GED required

·         Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field strongly preferred

Experience:

·         Three or more years of related manufacturing experience

·         Two or more years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred

·         Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred

·         Certificate or professional training experience in Leadership preferred

 

Additional Skills Required:

To effectively perform duties and responsibilities in the job position the following skills are required:

Computer skills:

·         Experience with basic computer systems

Communication skills:

·         Speak effectively with fellow employees

·         Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.

·         Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Mathematical skills:

·         Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
