Upstream Manufacturing Associate – B Night Shift

Position: Upstream Manufacturing Associate
Shift: B Night Shift – 12-Hour Rotating Schedule
Hours: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM (18:30–06:30)
Schedule: Alternating Weeks
Work Environment: Onsite / Manufacturing

Position Summary

We are seeking an Upstream Manufacturing Associate to support upstream manufacturing operations in a regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

This position will support key upstream activities, including sampling, media preparation, and inoculum activities. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a controlled manufacturing environment, following established procedures, gowning requirements, and applicable safety and quality standards.

Important – B Night Shift Requirement

Candidates must be able and willing to work the following 12-hour overnight rotating schedule from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday

The schedule then repeats on an alternating basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform upstream manufacturing activities in accordance with approved procedures and established manufacturing practices.
  • Support sampling activities associated with upstream manufacturing processes.
  • Perform media preparation activities as required.
  • Support inoculum preparation and related upstream processing activities.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturing instructions, and safety requirements.
  • Accurately complete required manufacturing documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing work environment.
  • Follow applicable gowning and controlled-area procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing team members to support production schedules and operational requirements.
  • Identify and communicate manufacturing issues or deviations to appropriate team members or supervisors.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

  • Work a 12-hour overnight shift from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
  • Work the required alternating B Night Shift schedule, including weekends.
  • Wear required gowning and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Stand and/or walk for extended periods during the shift.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis.
  • Perform manufacturing activities in a controlled production environment.
  • Follow strict safety, quality, and gowning procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience with upstream manufacturing operations is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with sampling, media preparation, inoculum activities, or related bioprocessing operations is preferred.
  • Ability to follow detailed written procedures and accurately complete documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.
  • Must be dependable and able to consistently work the required B Night Shift rotating schedule.
