Job description

Description Position Purpose: The Team Leader is a leader for our HPP associates. They are responsible for carrying out and delivering the expectations and customer demands set by the HPP manager and HPP Supervisor. Team leaders oversee the manufacturing activities and undertake a combination of physical and mental work that ranges from filling out paperwork and filing reports to managing production assembly lines and helping their team complete orders. Team leaders are strong communicators who can motivate a team to achieve certain targets and have great time management and problem-solving skills. All shifts available: Monday-Friday 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities: • Assign all associates to work rotations, machines, and daily tasks. • Responsible for communicating and executing work assignments to meet set expectations by the department and customer requirements. • Supervise employees during shift to ensure they are following GMP and Safety Regulations. • Assist the Supervisor with planning work schedules and product runs. • Training and holding associates accountable for departments, QA, Safety and Company processes and procedures • Complete the required paperwork for the department and ensure all paperwork submitted by associates is complete and accurate. • Required to communicate with leadership, QA department and USDA. • Handle any minor tasks related to your role. • Excellent attendance and punctuality for an hourly role. • Monitor progress and track it. • Motivate team members to meet production goals. • Examine completed work (in-process and finished goods) to detect defects and verify conformance specifications. • Collaborate with machine operators, supervisors, and management to ensure progress and time frame for orders. Additional Responsibilities: • Report any issues to the supervisor immediately. • Communicate changeovers with the Quality department and Production team to make sure a third-party verification has taken place. • Label changeovers. Requirements Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in a cold storage environment. Qualifications: Machine operator experience is desired Experience working in a team environment Display ability to meet daily deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment Proven satisfactory attendance Must be flexible with work schedule and job duties in a changing work environment Good communication skills (read, write, speak) Proven legible writing skills High school diploma/ GED Working Conditions This is largely a static role with standing; however, the ability to perform repetitive bending and standing up is also required. This would require the ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally. Must also be able to push/pull up to 250 lbs. on rollers occasionally. This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for 8-12 hours a day. Universal Pure facilities may process, pack, and store products containing allergenic food ingredients as referenced by the FDA. Team members who may come in direct contact must be able to work with these ingredients.
