Engineer the software behind tomorrow's mission. NS2 Mission is seeking an expert Software Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. As part of an Agile development team, you'll design, build, and enhance enterprise software solutions that support mission-critical operations across the Intelligence Community. This role offers the opportunity to work on modern Java applications, scalable backend services, and complex system integrations while collaborating with a team of engineers focused on delivering reliable, high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance enterprise Java applications supporting mission-critical capabilities. 
  • Design and implement scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot. 
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs that enable communication across distributed systems. 
  • Design efficient database solutions and optimize SQL queries for application performance. 
  • Support the development of modern web applications using JavaScript and Angular. 
  • Collaborate with architects, software engineers, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. 
  • Analyze and resolve software defects while improving application performance and reliability. 
  • Participate in architecture discussions, peer code reviews, and technical planning sessions. 
  • Contribute to continuous integration, testing, deployment, and long-term sustainment activities. 
  • Promote modern software engineering practices and contribute to continuous process improvement. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience). 
  • Experience developing enterprise software applications using Java. 
  • Experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks. 
  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful web services. 
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL. 
  • Experience with JavaScript and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular. 
  • Experience developing software within Linux/Unix environments. 
  • Familiarity with Git, version control, testing methodologies, and Agile software development. 
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. 

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing microservices-based architectures. 
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms. 
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application development. 
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab. 
  • Experience with Maven, Gradle, or similar Java build tools.

TS/SCI with an FSP
